LeRoy ~ David J. “Papa” Miller, age 69, of Perry Road, died Tuesday morning (August 14, 2012) at home in the presence of his loving family. Mr. Miller was born July 2, 1943 in Batavia, a son of the late Michael and Mary Felt Miller. He was a very loving and caring family man, who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his four grandchildren. His other passions included youth sports, the NY Yankees, working and riding his tractor. He was also known to be an avid sportsman, who loved to hunt, fish and shoot trap. Mr. Miller was also known in the community to be a dedicated member of the LeRoy Fire Department with over 25 years of service, not only as a firefighter, but also as fire chief and fire commissioner. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rosemary Paladino Miller, his children; Michelle (Matthew Betzler-fiance) Miller, Gregory (Peggy) Miller, David M. Miller, and Melissa (Jim) Lytle, grandchildren; Jesse, Cody, Sam and Emma, brothers; Donald (Shonnie) Miller, Paul (Norma) Miller, Richard (Debbie) Miller and Michael (LeeAnne) Miller, mother-in-law, Victoria Paladino, sister-in-law, Bridget Miller, brothers-in-law, Rich Petherbridge and Paul (Michael Gillis) Paladino, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Francis and Charles “Buddy”Miller, sister, Barbara Petherbridge and father-in-law, Sam Paladino. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4 ~ 8 PM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph’s Oratory Site, 27 Lake Street, LeRoy. His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM at St. Peter’s Church Site, 44 Lake St., LeRoy. The courtesy of no flowers is requested with memorials in Mr. Miller’s name being made to either the Northwoods Sportsman’s Club, LeRoy Little League or Wilmot Cancer Center.
