Obituary of William F. Whaley

William (Bill) Whaley, age 87, of Pavilion, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025.
He was born July 27, 1937 in Warsaw, a son of the late Milt and Cathleen (Foley) Whaley.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Mamie Fay, Peggy Smith and Nancy Cutcliffe and his brother, Tom Whaley.
Bill was a graduate of Pavilion High School and was a past member of the Pavilion Fire Department. He always enjoyed a good card game, golfing, snowmobiling, vacationing, and racing to name a few. Sports were a part of his daily life, and he spent time throughout his years coaching the Pavilion T-Shirt and Little Leagues, girls’ softball and the Pavilion High School girls’ basketball. Bill’s biggest enjoyments in life were being around family and friends or being able to help out one of his kids or grandkids in any way he could. He spent countless hours doing things for his family, and enjoyed being there to cheer on all of his kids and grandkids in any sport or activity that they were involved in.
Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sonia (Weaver) Whaley; two sons, Christopher (Teresa) Whaley of Pavilion, Wayne (Mary) Whaley of Piffard and a daughter, Marj (Dan) Jeffres of Wyoming, NY; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 1 ~ 3 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy, where a service will follow at 3:00 PM.
