Obituary of Robert E. Russum
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert E. Russum, age 88, died late afternoon on February 7th in the caring and compassionate hands of the Lakeland Regional Hospital.
Born in Sunrise, Delaware on August 8, 1936, he was the son of the late Addie and Elmer Russum. He was the youngest and last survivor of 10 siblings.
Robert is and will always be remembered for his support and love of his late wife, Mickey Russum, his devotion to faith and the church. He was a dedicated Papa, who loved his grandchildren, and a writer who was always eager to send another letter, always thinking and caring to keep in touch. A decaf coffee enthusiast and no stranger to a board game; he was victorious in his last hand of uno. He dearly admired his home state of Delaware. Rising early each morning for 30 years, Bob, as his coworkers called him, committed his work life to General Railway Signal.
He is survived by his children, Ron Coe, Charlene Hovey and Lance Russum; his grandchildren, Brayden Hovey, Delista Hovey, Harley Russum and Noah Russum; four great-grandchildren and many close friends.
Family and friends may call on May 15 from 5:30 ~ 7:30 PM and again on May 16 from 10 ~ 11 AM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd, LeRoy, NY, where his Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the Stafford Rural Cemetery.
