Remembering Janet Warner Fitch

     Born on October 17^th, 1919, Janet lived 105 beautiful years.  She was a resident of LeRoy and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4^th.  She was the daughter of the late Kenyon and Leone F. Warner.  She was born in Groveland, New York, where the family home is still owned by Janet’s daughter, Cal.

     She was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo where she met her husband, Richard C. Fitch.  They went on to have 4 children together and created a family home in LeRoy, where they permanently stayed.

     She is survived by Marsha Cleland, Cal (Sam) Loturco, Quentin (Kathleen) Fitch; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Fitch and her son, R. Clarke Fitch II.

     Janet worked as a nurse, a teacher in Warsaw and Alexander Elementary School.  When she moved to LeRoy, she became an avid member of the First Presbyterian Church.  She was consistently on multiple committees, such as the Dutch Fair and Garden Club.

     She enjoyed traveling, dancing parties, gardening in the backyard, and helping wherever she could.  She was an excellent listener and one of many hobbies was baking for her loved ones or the community.  She was a big influence at the LeRoy Christian Community Project, working with the growth of our local youth.

     Your memories and condolences may be shared with Janet’s family from 4 ~ 7 PM on Friday, March 21 at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  A Celebration of Janet’s Life will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of LeRoy. (Note the two different dates)
