Obituary of Daniel Marc Bennett

Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

LeRoy ~ Daniel Marc Bennett (Dan), age 74, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Dan was a beloved husband, cherished stepfather, and Pappa.

Born in Greece, NY in 1951, Dan entered our family and became more than just a stepfather; he became a father figure, a confidant, and a source of strength, his love and support were unwavering. He embraced his role as a stepfather with grace and generosity, always there to offer a listening ear, a helping hand, and a comforting presence. He instilled in us the values of hard work, kindness, perseverance, and we will forever be grateful for the lessons he taught us. Dan was known for his quick wit and endless jokes; he could light up any room and bring smiles to those around him.

Dan was a mechanic and truck driver, Dan could fix, fab, build, drive and wreck anything. In Dan’s younger years had a need for speed, he was an avid car enthusiast and a purist when it came to racing. He enjoyed building race cars and test driving them (sometimes in town), just as much as he did racing. It did not matter to Dan what cars were being raced or if he was even driving, he was happy at the track or with a race on the television.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Darlene Bennett, his stepchildren Colleen Brostek (Robert), John Hutchings, Jr. (Michelle), and his grandchildren, Jay, Jeff, and Emily.

As per Dan’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, we encourage those who wish to celebrate his life to do so privately, remembering him with cherished memories.
