Obituary of Marilyn E. Pursel

LeRoy ~ Marilyn E. Pursel, age 85, of South Street, passed away on Wednesday evening (March 26, 2025) at the Orchard Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Medina.

     She was born June 6, 1939 in Wayland, NY, a daughter of the late Frederick and Harriet Burke Hemmer.

     Marilyn will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many.  She was a hard worker and cleaned various homes for families for over 50 years.  She loved to gather and socialize with family and friends. She enjoyed her sweets and was known for making the best potato salad in the area.

      Marilyn will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Donald; sons, Michael (Christine) Pursel and Daniel Pursel; grandchildren, Kim, Shawn, Eric, Justin, Aliyah, Delaney and Melina; great-grandson, Maddox; sister, Jean (Ron) Pangrazio; brother, Thomas (Nina) Hemmer, along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends.  A special thank you to her “family” at Orchard Manor Nursing Home for their wonderful care, love and devotion.

     In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her son, Robert Pursel; sisters, Joyce Butler and Carole (Robert) Alianell and her brother, James Hemmer.

     Services and burial at St. Francis Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.

     In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn are suggested to Orchard Manor Nursing Home, 600 Bates Road, Medina, N.Y. 14103
