PAVILION CENTER, NY - With great sadness, the MacDuffie family would like to announce the passing of Theodore (Ted) Maxwell MacDuffie on Sunday, March 30, 2025. He was at home with his family present, and was 91 years old.  Born October 26, 1933 to Alton I. and Isabel E. MacDuffie, Ted was a life-long resident of Pavilion, NY.  He attended Pavilion Central School, and after graduating in 1951, he volunteered to serve his country by joining the US Army, and then the National Guard.  After being honorably discharged, Ted married Janice Kemp from Shinglehouse, Pennsylvania and raised two children, Julie Ann and Alton Maxwell.  He spent his life as a farmer and a gravel mine owner and operator.

While growing up he won many awards for raising championship livestock – particularly hogs; he even sold a prize-winning boar to Mr. Winston Churchill.  Ted had a big passion for operating heavy equipment which drew him to the gravel mine.  He was a member of the Pavilion Grange #423, and a past member of the NYS Tractor Pullers Association.  Ted became a life-time member and director of the Genesee County Agriculture Society, where he served as both, vice president and then president, while spending countless hours preparing and overseeing many events at the Genesee County Fairs.  Ted went on and even served on the Caledonia Fair Board.  He was a man of many words and a friendly farmer with the true gift of gab that helped him make many friends.  He told many stories (especially to his home health care angels) and he was quick with a good joke as he loved to make people laugh.

Theodore is predeceased by his parents Alton I. and Isabel E. MacDuffie, brother Rollin E. MacDuffie, and his first wife Janice MacDuffie.  He leaves behind his daughter Julie (John) MacDuffie, son Alton MacDuffie, second wife Patricia MacDuffie, step children Raymond Brooks, Jr., Roganna (Troy) Rowe, Debbie (Roger) Beardsley and Mark (Glenda) Brooks, many cousins, nieces and nephews and step-grandchildren, family friend Jack Cain, and his health care angles Christine Page, Celeste Wrek, and Jennifer Hagen, all of whom he loved dearly.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, April 6 from 1 ~ 4 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy, where his funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7 at 12:30.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Genesee County Agricultural Society, Inc., and the Pavilion Fire Department.
