Obituary of Christine K. Cromwell

Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Pavilion / York ~ Christine K. Cromwell, age 72, passed away peacefully after a brief illness while under hospice care on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

She was born October 1, 1952, in Rochester, a daughter of the late J. Forbes and Frances Wood Cromwell and stepdaughter of Janet Lawson Cromwell.

Chris is survived by her brothers, John Cromwell and Mitchell (Joy) Cromwell; brother-in-law, Neal Pangrazio; stepsisters, Catherine, Patricia and Jenny; nieces and nephews, Melinda, Jessica, Jeffrey, Kimberly, Travis, Elizabeth and Anne, along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Carol Pangrazio, stepsister, Susan Acker and her sister-in-law, Pam Cromwell.

She was a 1970 graduate of Pavilion High School.  Upon her graduation from Genesee Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business, Chris worked as a legal assistant for various area law offices and, up to her retirement, was the office manager for Lawnel Farms in York.

Chris will be remembered for her love of family, especially her nieces and nephews, who were in essence, her “children”.  Her wry sense of humor and quick wit could often surprise you.  She enjoyed mowing her lawn, being a member of the York Town Quilters and going on bus trips around the area in and out of New York State where she loved to tour gardens, old homes and buy her craft supplies.  She was very crafty and had a passion for creating, sharing and teaching crafts with her family & friends.

There are no prior calling hours and interment at Olivet Cemetery will be at the convenience of Chris’s family.

Contributions in memory of Chris are suggested to either Genesee Cancer Assistance, 127 North Street, Batavia, NY 14020 or Crossroads House, P.O. Box 403, Batavia, N.Y. 14021.
