Sandra J. Filio, age 73, formerly of East Bethany, passed away early Tuesday morning (June 10, 2025) at the Newfane Rehab & Health Care Center.

     She was born September 26, 1951 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Donald and Evelyn Phillips Nichols.

     Sandy was a 1969 graduate of Pavilion Central School.  She enjoyed spending holidays with her family, playing penny poker and cooking for family and friends. She loved her dogs, rooting for the Buffalo Bills and certainly was not afraid to offer her opinion whether it was needed or not.

     She is survived by her brother, Daniel Nichols; sisters in law, Barb Slarick and Barb Filio; aunt, Joyce Herold; nephew, Brian Hartgrave; great-nephew, Daniel Nichols III, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

     In addition to her parents, Donald (Whitey) Nichols and Evelyn (Phillips) Nichols, Sandy was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Filio; sisters in law, Shelly (Hazlett) Nichols, Angie Filio and Patty Filio; brothers in law, Sam Filio and Joe Filio and her uncle, Richard Herold.

     Family and friends may call on Friday, June 13 from 10:00 AM ~ 12:00 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy, where Sandy’s prayer service will be held at 12 PM.  Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sandy’s family.
