Batavia ~ Margaret J. Gravanda, age 88, formerly of Wescott Road, LeRoy, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

     She was born January 3, 1937 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie Licata Cordaro.

     Margaret will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many.  She was quiet and reserved, yet strong in many ways.  Her family and her faith were her inspiration.

     She will be sadly missed by her six children, Vincent “Jim” (Anne) Gravanda Jr., Thomas (Shirley) Gravanda, Julie (Timothy) LaPorte, Ronald (Beth) Gravanda, Donna (Michael) Steffenella and Paul (Keena) Gravanda; grandchildren, Stefanie (Mark) Williams, Timothy (Liz)  LaPorte Jr., Clinton (Megan Mattice) LaPorte, Vincent Gravanda III, Samantha (Patrick) Vogler, Thomas Gravanda Jr., Collin Gravanda, Madison (Jeremy) Jacobs, Garrett Gravanda, Olivia Steffenella, Oliana Steffenella, Brennan Gravanda, Isabella Gravanda, Sophia Gravanda and Avery Gravanda; great-grandchildren, Elle Williams, Liam Gravanda, Adam LaPorte, Angelo LaPorte and Peyton Vogler; siblings, Betty (late Joseph) Merica, Antoinette (late Dominic)  D’Pasquale, Rachel (late David) Abbott, Theresa (late Daryl) Hamler, Rito (Leslie) Cordaro and Joanne Yamonaco, along with many nieces and  nephews.

     Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Vincent “Jim” Gravanda; her brothers, Charles (Carole) Cordaro, Samuel (Rose) Cordaro and Joseph (Marietta) Cordaro and her sister, Mary (Louis) Ferrara.

     Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 28 at 9:30 AM at Resurrection Parish, St. Joseph Site, 303 E. Main St., Batavia.  Family interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
