Hilda Joyce Haskins (Lindsay), age 92 passed away on July 19, 2025. She was born May 14, 1933 in Castile, NY, a daughter of the late Floyd and Onalea Sucher Lindsay.
She is survived by her children: Aurolee Meadows of Michigan, Valerie Errante of Munich, Germany, Guy (Shirley) Haskins of Nashville, TN and Gail (David) Kinney of Pavilion, NY; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; nephew, Michael Lindsay and niece, Teresa Lindsay.
In addition to her parents, Floyd and Onalea Lindsay, Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Ernest A. Haskins and her brother, Alvin Lindsay.
Hilda graduated from Letchworth Central School and Rochester Business Institute. She was a long time secretary for the Castile United Church of Christ, and the State of New York at both Letchworth State Park and the New York State School for the Blind in Batavia, NY. Hilda led a busy life with involvement with the UCC in Castile and Morganville and Grace Baptist Church in Batavia as well as nationally through SOWERS (Servers on Wheels Ever Ready). She was a long time 4-H leader of the Cavaliers Horse club, sharing her love of riding and horsemanship. Many will remember her as the announcer of all 4-H horseshows at the Wyoming County Fair in Pike, NY. She also shared her talents by teaching piano and cake decoration and was known for her delicious pies and breads.
