LeRoy ~ William G. Cummings, age 74, passed away Sunday morning (July 20, 2025) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

     He was born August 8, 1950 in Batavia, a son of the late Charles and Eleanor Dries Cummings Sr.

     Bill will be remembered as a very caring and generous person, who was devoted to his family and his faith.  He enjoyed volunteering wherever his services were needed, especially with the Salvation Army as a bell ringer during the holiday season.  He was also a dedicated Buffalo Bills fan.

     He is survived by his siblings, Charles (Julie) Cummings Jr. of Pittsford, Joan (Wayne) Sovocool of Madison, AL and Mary (Michael) Griffiths of Keuka Park; brother-in-law, Gary Cross of Conesus; his nieces and nephews Chris (Joan) Cummings, Amy Luft, Michelle (Chris Flood) Beyer, Gary Cross, Renee (Mark) Hopkins, Brenda (Jim) Bell, Sarah (Brett) Orr, Ellen (Scott Laubenheimer) Cross, Laura (Matt) Dumuhosky, Stephanie (Rob) Bedwell, Lew (Amy) Sovocool, Catie Griffiths (Patrick Stefano) and Mick Griffiths as well as many great nieces, nephews and cousins.

     In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Marie Cross.

     Family and friends are invited to Bill’s Rite of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, August 8 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy.  Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

     The family would like to offer their special thanks to Bill’s niece, Sarah Orr and the staff at the LeRoy Village Green for their care and making Bill feel like a part of their family.
