Angelo A. Merica Jr., born and raised in LeRoy, NY by the late Angelo (Joyce) Merica, passed away peacefully July 25, 2025 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, NY.

     Angelo resided in Rochester, NY for many years and was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills. Angelo loved spending time with his family, whether it was family gatherings, attending auto auctions with his brother and nephew, or just simply stopping in for visits. Angelo could be known for his infectious laugh and will be missed by many.

     He is survived by his “wife” Mary Jane Merica (Ortner) of Rochester; his sons, Michael J. Merica of Pavilion, Angelo A. Merica 3rd (Bethany) of Pavilion, daughter, Catherine J. Merica (Zach) of Rochester  and his beloved dog, Gizzy; his grandchildren, Jordan, Shawn, Summer and great-granddaughter,  Mihlani. Other family members include his brother, Fred Merica (Hazel), Jamie Merica (Karen), the late Nick Merica (Margaret); Mother in law, Helen Ortner (Late Frank Ortner) of Rochester, sister in law, Trish Ortner from Florida, brother in law, Mike Ortner (Barb), Frank Ortner (Paula), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

     Services are private at the convenience of the family.  Angelo will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester.
