Jane E. Cory passed away peacefully at The Friendly Home in Pittsford, NY on Sunday, July 27, 2025.  Jane celebrated her 90th birthday on April 12. 

     Jane was a wonderful person.  She was quiet and kind.  She opened her heart and her home to everyone she met.  Her family meant the world to her.  She married the love of her life, George Cory in 1959 and they started their lives in the tight knit community of Limerock, just outside of LeRoy.  Originally they lived in the family homestead before moving just down the road to the home that she lived in until 2022.  Jane and George welcomed 2 sons, Dennis (1960) and Daniel (1962).  Jane loved being a mom and her boys were so lucky to have her as their mom.  Anyone who remembers visiting the Cory home can remember being treated to a delicious baked good, fresh from Jane’s oven. 

     Jane was an avid seamstress and she and George loved to travel. 

     Jane was the bookeeper for her husband’s business, George Cory Electric.  She was involved in the LeRoy Fire Department, helping to start the ladies auxillary. 

Jane always had a smile to share and she loved her hugs and kisses. 

     Jane is predeceased by her husband George, her sons, Dennis and Daniel, and her sister Joan Betzler.  She is survived by her daughter in law, Susan Cory of Webster and her neices, Anne Mardon, Gail Gokey, Rebecca Bornstein and Patricia Betzler. She is also survived by friends who have become family. 

     A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Church 44 Lake St., LeRoy, NY on Thursday, August 14 at 11:00 AM.

     In lieu of flowers please take a minute to do something nice for someone around you.  You could also donate to a charity of your choice in Jane’s name or to the Daniel Cory Scholarship fund given annually to a student pursuing a career in the trades.  Checks to the scholarship can be made to Holley Central School District, referencing Dan Cory.
