Gerald “Jerry” Ashley, born on October 8, 1948, passed away on August 12, 2025.
He was a son of the late William “Fredie” Ashley and Geraldine (Haynes) Ashley.
Jerry was raised in LeRoy, NY and graduated from LeRoy High School in 1966. He joined the US Army after graduation and served as a Combat Infantryman in the 1st Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He was awarded 2 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat. Jerry retired from CP Ward after 33 years as a lowboy driver.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Miggins) Ashley; sons, Brian and Patrick (Raelle); grandchildren, Cole (father Brian), Jackson and Liliana (father Patrick); brother, William; brother-in-law, Michael (Kay) Miggins; sister-in-law, Regina Carson Ashley, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jerry was predeceased by his brothers, Francis “Franny” Ashley and Ray Ashley and sister-in-law Donna Ellis Ashley.
Jerry will be remembered as an avid hunter and Trap shooter. He belonged to Five Point, Mumford and the Bergen rod and gun clubs.
Family and friends may call on October 8, 2025 from 4 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy, where military honors will be rendered at 7:00 PM.
