LeRoy ~ William S. "Sid" Horgan Jr., age 78, of Gilbert Street, passed peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

     Sid was born in Batavia, NY on March 30, 1947 to William S. Horgan Sr. and Naomi Horgan (Fletcher).  Sid was a lifelong resident of LeRoy where he attended Holy Family School and graduated from LeRoy High School in the Class of 1965.

     Sid was married to his wife of 55 years, Linda Horgan (Crnkovich) and raised two sons, Kevin and Daniel. 

     Sid was most proud of his family, Linda, his two sons, Kevin and Daniel, their spouses, Holly and Sara, and his three grandchildren, Ava, Trevor, and Elaina.  He also had a strong sense of civic duty and served LeRoy as a volunteer firefighter, Fire Chief, and as the Village of LeRoy’s Mayor for ten years.  Sid worked for over 40 years for Lapp Insulator and then Pulsafeeder as a pump service technician. 

     Sid is also survived by his sister, Cathy Hyde (Horgan), her husband, Carl Hyde, Linda’s brother, Robert Crnkovich, Robert’s wife, Sharon, Linda’s sister, Joan Mathers (Crnkovich) and her husband, Fred Mathers.   Sid also had many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, especially his classmates from the LeRoy Class of 1965.  He is pre-deceased by his parents, his brother, Donald Graham, his sister, Roberta Graney (Horgan), and Roberta’s husband, John “Chip” Graney.

     Family and friends are invited to Sid’s Rite of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, August 29th at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.

     The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude for the care provided by the staff at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home during Sid’s time at the facility. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made in Sid’s honor to the LeRoy Historical Society or LeRoy Ambulance Service.
