Richard “Dick” O’Shea, 89, a lifelong and proud LeRoyan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 19, 2025.

     He was born on March 28, 1936, to the late Wendell and Ruth O’Shea. Dick grew up deeply rooted in the LeRoy community. He graduated from LeRoy High School and Assumption College and went on to build a long career as a salesman across various industries.

     Service and community were central to Dick’s life. He was active in his church, served on local school boards, volunteered with Cub Scouts, participated in the Republican Party, and gave back as a village trustee. He believed in showing up, lending a hand, and working to make his hometown a better place.

     Above all, Dick was most proud of his family. He loved nothing more than time spent together—whether on the water boating and fishing, or in the stands cheering on his children and grandchildren at their sporting events. An avid sports fan, he especially looked forward to football season each year, a tradition he cherished throughout his life.

     Dick is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann O’Shea and is survived by his children, Brian O’Shea, Robert (Tracey) O’Shea, Karen (William) Bartley and Kathleen O’Shea. He was a proud grandfather to Taylor, Thomas, Jack, Luke, Sean, Keriann, and Avery, and great-grandfather to Everly and Henry.

     He will be remembered for his dedication, his easy humor, and the joy he found in the simple act of gathering with the people he loved.

     Family and friends may call on Friday, August 22 from 5 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd, LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter’s Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy.  Interment at St. Francis Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
