George “Bill” William Middleton III passed away August 22, 2025 at 76 years old.

     He was born April 11, 1949 to George Middleton, Jr. and Anna (Rapone) Middleton.

     Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his sister Barbara Mattice and his grandson Matthew Hall. He is survived by his sister Georgianna Middleton, children Bill (Dawn) Middleton, Michelle (Jim) Carson, Mary (Jeff) Riggi, Bob Middleton, grandchildren Angie, Jacquie, Ed, Marcus, Adam, Joe, Nikki, John, MacKenna, Josh, Cheyenne, great-grandchildren William, Maverick, Riley, Henry, and his beloved dog Oliver.  He will also be missed by his many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

     Born and raised in Caledonia, New York, Bill enjoyed local history, especially as it pertained to railroads. His lifelong love of trains amounted to an impressive model train collection he loved to show to any and all visitors. Bill worked as a plumber for over 40 years and was a lifetime member of the Local 13 Union. A true MacGyver and master of glue, his children and grandchildren sought their “Papa” out whenever something needed built or fixed. Bill was happiest at the workbench in his train room, a dog or two at his feet, restoring his latest model train.

     A celebration of life is being planned for April 11, 2026. Final details will be shared by the family at a later date.
