David G. Vicary Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away suddenly on August 31st, 2025, at the age of 84.

     He was born on April 28th, 1941, in Batavia to parents Charles and Mary Blank Vicary and was a lifelong resident of Stafford, NY and its community.

     David was a LeRoy High School graduate and worked at Lapp Insulator as an Equipment Operator. He was a community activist, serving as Stafford’s Zoning Officer for 13 years, and on Stafford’s Town Board for 16 years before retiring in December of 2015. He was also a lifetime member of the Stafford Fire Department, serving 7 years as Fire Chief and was a member of the Exempts.

     He is predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Nina M. Paladino-Vicary; his parents, Charles and Mary Blank Vicary; his brother, William Vicary; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Vicary-Reinagel; niece, Lisa Marie Vicary-Burch and grandson, Nicholas Nobles Sr.

     He is survived by his significant other, Jeannie Kehl; daughters, Mary Margaret Vicary-Johnson of Stafford, Bonnie Jean Vicary-Cowell of Le Roy and his son, David G. Vicary Jr. (Nicole) of Asheville, NC; grandsons, Andrew, David George, Logan, Dalton, and Colton, and great-grandsons, Nicholas Jr. and Leo and niece, Charlotte (Matt) Vicary-Maser, along with several other nieces and nephews.

     Family and friends may call Friday, September 5th, 2025, from 3 – 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., where his funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at 11:00 AM.  Interment at Stafford Rural Cemetery will immediately follow.  Those not wishing to attend the graveside services are welcomed to go directly to the Stafford Fire Hall for a reception.
