Diane M. Ames, 67, of Canisteo NY, passed away on Sept 21, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.   

     Diane was born on Sept. 25, 1957, to Carl and Ila Ross.

     She enjoyed being a farm girl, helping out in the hayfield to milking cows. She worked several jobs, but retired in April 2020 from Mercury Aircraft of Hammonsport NY. She made many friends who became family in the end.

     She was a loving mother to Kimberly Beebe and Carl (June) Ames. Wife to Sherman Ames; sister to Bonnie Ross (Tim Valentine) and grandma to Makayla, Lilyana, Brooke, Chelsea, and Tanner, who she adored them all. An aunt to many, including Alicia Ross (Jared Knoll), as well as a second "Mom" and "Grandma" to all who knew her. Everyone knows she was an extraordinary baker, especially if you hadn't had her chocolate chip cookies or brownies (blondies)... you missed out!

     She is predeceased by her father, Carl Ross and grandson Tanner Beebe.

     There will not be any funeral services, only a celebration of life that will be determined later.

     Mom did not want a fuss over her, so in lieu of flowers, please share stories and pictures with everyone. She will be truly forever missed and loved. RIP mom and give hugs to Tanner and Grandpa Ross.
