Norma Jean, 85, was called “home” on October 4, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born in Saltvale, Virginia to Ella Mae Sanders and James Porter on May 21, 1940.  In her passing, she is reunited with her husband of 65 years, David Heale, her parents and siblings, Sharon, Montraville “Montie”, and Roger.  She leaves behind her brother’s, Ed and Tom Porter, her 4 children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many others.

     Norma Jean was a caregiver in nursing homes and childcare centers throughout her life. She loved caring for others and held a special place in her heart for babies. Norma was a no-nonsense, funny, sassy, sweet soul who loved like crazy and had a smile that was pure sunshine. She will be remembered for keeping a tidy house, reading/writing her scriptures, yelling at David and loving her family.

     She gave the best hugs, had a contagious laugh and made strangers feel like family. Her mere presence was a gift from God and will be left in the hearts of those who mourn her forever. As sweet and bright of a soul as she was, she had a “rebel” way about her. Norma was the most beautiful person and a force to be reckoned with. The sun will shine a little less brighter with her loss for those who loved her, but God gained the most magnificent gift by welcoming her home. 

     Family and friends may call on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 10 AM ~ 12 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy, where her funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM.  Interment will immediately follow at Daws Corners Cemetery in Batavia.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
