Miss Starkey was my 1st grade teacher at Pavilion Baptist. She gave me a Grapefruit seed and we planted it in a little pot and she let me keep it after I moved up a few grades. I have often thought about her over the years and I remember she was always so happy and full of smiles.

She was an amazing person, so kind n loving. She was so good to my kiddos n I. We would bake each other goodies, her favorite was my pb n chocolate cookies. She would come over just to bring my doggies treats n get some pitte bully love. I was with her the night before she passed. She was like a Grandma to me. We will forever miss her.

Linda advocated with compassion for all God's creatures, both two and four legged. She tirelessly worked for years with a feral cat colony to get them all neutered and fed. She always carried a bag of dog treats and greeted every dog with love and a snack. Driving down Warsaw Road several times each week, Linda watched with interest while a new house was under construction. She did not know the owners, but that didn't stop her from picking up a bouquet of flowers and stopping by to wish the surprised residents good luck in their new home. We should all learn to “brighten the corner where we are” as Linda Starkey certainly did.

I met Linda when she worked at The Greens in LeRoy where she did pedicures. Through that I learned that Linda was very active in helping stray cats in Pavilion. I adopted two lovely cats from her and I'll always remember Linda for giving me the opportunity to have two beautiful cats in need of a home. She is a special angel. Rest in peace.
