Bethany Carrianne Williams Obituary

Bethany Williams, age 41 of Greece, passed away suddenly on November 28, 2025.

Bethany Carrianne Williams was born Wednesday, August 29th, 1984 at Lakeside Hospital in Brockport, NY. Her proud parents are Michael and Dolly Williams.

Bethany graduated from Brockport High School in 2002.  She had known since high school that special education would be her life’s work.

She set her sights on a career in the field after graduating from Brockport High School in 2002, first heading to the University of Buffalo for undergraduate work and then to St. John Fisher College for her master’s degree. Shortly after finishing at Fisher, Williams joined the Rochester-based Child Care Council as special needs services coordinator.  She worked with families and child care providers to improve care for children with special needs in Monroe, Livingston and Wayne Counties.

Bethany was passionate about her work.  It was challenging at times, helping parents find child care for children with disabilities, training providers in how to care for children with special needs and keeping licensed child care providers informed on the council’s programs.

Bethany had obtained additional state funding to expand services by offering specialized training and technical assistance to child care providers.

Bethany went on to become the Director of Special Needs in the Child Care Council.  An insight into her thinking; Bethany stated in an interview in years passed; “Growing up in a family of educators, I learned that every child can learn when they are given the right tools and opportunities,” Williams says.  As I began my teaching care in public schools and in child care centers, I found that this was very much true.  Being able to support children with special needs to reach new milestones, as well as train child care providers, is a very rewarding experience.  It is something that I look forward to each and every day.

Bethany’s daughter Audriana Joy was the “joy” of her life!  She was an excellent mom, providing whatever she needed.  Being a “soccer mom”, she and her daughter made many local and out-of-state trips to tournaments and games over a 10-year period. She loved watching her play. Audriana could always hear her mom cheering from the bleachers.  She was so proud of her daughter.

Bethany loved “beaches”!  From the shores of Ocean City, MD to the Caribbean island of Dominican Republic, where she took her daughter to Punta Cana as a graduation surprise.

When Bethany was younger, she would attend “bring your daughter to school day”, dressed like her mother – same outfit, shoes, even down to her socks.  Bethany enjoyed working as an assistant for a summer with her mom for the SUNY Brockport Migrant Program.  She loved children and helping the bilingual students acquire reading and math skills.

Bethany had a heart of gold!  She helped and loved dearly her grandmother who she was named in honor of.  They enjoyed shopping all the time! Grandmother would buy her whatever she wanted, HA! HA! Mom.  When her grandmother was sick for 7 years, she was faithful taking care and visiting the nursing home.  Her grandmother would always light-up when she saw her namesake come to visit and feed her.

Bethany loved the Lord, she never failed to ask for prayers when needed.  She had many Christian influences in her life.  Bethany attended the Church of God when she could with her mother and daughter.  She never failed to ask her mother about Bible passages when she needed clarification.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving, intelligent and compassionate daughter, Audriana Joy Williams, her parents, Michael and Dolly Williams, her supportive brothers, Matthew and Isaiah (Julie) Williams, a dear niece, Malani Joi Williams, her material great aunt, Beatrice Redman, a paternal aunt, Ronora James and a host of cousins and friends.

     Lovingly submitted, Her Family
