LeRoy ~ George A. Pursel Jr., age 71, of Linwood Road, passed away at home surrounded by the love of his family on Thursday evening, December 11, 2025.

     He was born May 22, 1954 in Batavia, a son of the late George A. and Elizabeth Mancuso Pursel Sr.

     George will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, a wonderful brother and a loyal friend to many.  He was the longtime owner of George Pursel Repair and took great pride in his work and offered sincere compassion to his customers in need.  George was devoted to his faith and was a past trustee at St. Anthony’s Church in Limerock.  He was a 25 year past president of the Empire State Antique Truck Association, a lifetime member of the Oatka Fish and Game Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus.  Anyone that knew George, knew that he was a great storyteller and historian. 

     He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 47+ years, Carol Long Pursel; his daughters, Sarah (Jeff) Shimmel and Katie Taylor; his grandchildren, Rosalind, Penelope and Henry Taylor, Vienna and Teagan Shimmel; his siblings, Jeffrey Pursel, Patrick (Ann) Pursel and Marie (Kelly) Pursel, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

     Family and friends may call on Friday, December 19 from 3 ~ 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd., LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 11095 St. Mary’s Street, Pavilion.  Private interment at St. Francis Cemetery, LeRoy.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either HomeCare & Hospice, 1225 W. State Street, Olean, NY 14760 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
