LeRoy ~ Ruth B. Jay, age 97, of East Main Road, passed away early Monday morning (December 22, 2025) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, surrounded by the love of her family.

     She was born December 2, 1928 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late William and Marie Huebsch Brady.

     Ruth will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend to many.  Her family was the most important part of her life and she cherished the times when all could be together.  She was a long time educator and coach; working with many different school districts throughout her teaching career. After retirement, Ruth enjoyed spending her winters in Florida.

     She will be sadly missed by her children, Jeanne (Charles) Perdue, James Jay and Julie (Jeff) McNish; grandchildren, Charles Perdue, Daniel (Katie) Perdue, Brady McNish and Sawyer McNish; her brother, Bill (Gerri) Brady, along with many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Raymond “Coach” Jay and her grandson, James Perdue.

     A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held at a future date to be announced.
