John was the best of friends in high school. Though we did not stay close afterward I still hold fond memories of that age ; the follies of our youth. Whether we were jumping off the top of the quarry or off the bridge and rock formations at Lower Falls in Letchworth into the river( the one day John broke his arm hitting the water then climbed out of the gorge like nothing happened). I never heard a terse word from him toward me-he shared the Mic with me at Prom one year screaming Power Finger(Neil Young) at the top of his lungs- I weep when I ponder what that meant to me. Rest well good fellow. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

The Skinner-Rosenberg family is very sorry for your loss. We enjoyed Johnny’s friendship in La Honda, and were fortunate to visit him a couple times in Rochester. I remember bringing posters of the La Honda Fair, an event he loved when he lived here. I hope his last years were less full of anger and pain. John wasn't my friend. He was my brother. Not having brothers, I sort of adopted Dan, John and Dave...40 years ago. John was our free spirit.
He was always there with a smile..he could literally tell jokes for hours...and he always cared about his friends and family. He was, quite simply..loved by those that knew him...and admired by many, because he didn't compromise..his lifes was his own. Always. Exactly what most of us fear. John lived true to himself.
