Mary Frances Shaughnessy, 79, of Pavilion passed away unexpectedly on Jan 15, 2026. She was born Mary Frances Boyer in Rochester to Harry and Marie (Getz) Boyer.
She is predeceased by both her parents; brother, John; sister-in-law, Lisa Boyer; niece, Denise and 2 nephews, David and Teddy.
She is survived by her boyfriend of 26 years, Stephen King of Batavia; daughter, Sarah (Steven) Olmstead of Albion, son, John Shaughnessy Jr of Tennessee; 2 sisters, Kathryn Boyer and Anna Joyner, both of Rochester; brother, Ross Boyer of Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Samantha (Dakota) Frazier of Alabama, Nathan and McKenzie Olmstead both of Albion; 2 great-grandchildren, Colter and Landyn Frazier of Alabama. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
She volunteered for many years at the Batavia Salvation Army location. She was very active in her church community at St. Mary’s in Pavilion. She taught Sunday school for many years, eventually becoming coordinator of the program. She volunteered for many years with the church breakfast and later the chicken BBQ with Immaculate Conception. She was also a foster parent for a long time.
Friends and family may call on Friday Jan 23rd from 2 - 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake St. Rd. in LeRoy. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday Jan 24th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 11095 St. Mary’s Street, Pavilion. A private internment will be held at a later date.
