Angier, NC - We are heartbroken to announce that Kelsey K. (Stella) Boyd, age 33, formerly of LeRoy, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 2, 2026, after bravely living with cervical cancer for the last three years.  She passed surrounded by the love of her family. 

     Kelsey was born on May 31, 1992 in Rochester, NY to her loving parents, Robert and Barbara Stella of LeRoy, NY.  She was a 2010 graduate of LeRoy High School.  Kelsey then went on and graduated from nursing school at Genesee Community College.  After working in the western NY area, Kelsey decided to work as a travel nurse.  She took her first assignment in North Carolina.  She fell in love with the sunshine and sunsets and ultimately decided to make North Carolina home with her husband, Jordan.  Kelsey worked as a nurse while simultaneously receiving cancer treatments, sometimes being as sick as the patients she took care of.  This brought her joy and a sense of purpose.  She was proud of her career and touched the lives of many patients and coworkers all the way from NY to NC.  In 2025, Kelsey was a recipient of the Shawn Hamlet Award, which is dedicated to nurses who make a significant impact on others through their energy, motivation and enthusiasm. 

     If you knew Kelsey, you loved her.  Kelsey had a way of making others feel loved, included, and safe when they were around her.  Kelsey brightened up any room she was in with her heart of gold and loving smile.  She found joy in the simple things and loved going to the beach, to concerts, and eating ice cream in the North Carolina sunshine.  If you couldn't find her doing one of those activities; you could find Kelsey spending time with her dogs or spoiling her nieces.   

     Along with her parents, Kelsey leaves behind her husband, Jordan Boyd; her sisters, Ilissa (Harrison) Swados, and Haley Stella; her nieces and nephew who she loved more than anything, Stella, Meredith, and Arthur; grandmothers Rita DiFrancisco and Doris (Douglas) Laubacker;  in-laws, Bill and Debbie Wagner and David Boyd and Nancy Satter; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family.  She also leaves her fur babies, Murphy, Dolly, and Peanut.   

     She is predeceased by her grandfathers, Joseph DiFrancisco and Robert Stella. 

     Family and friends may call on Saturday, March 14 from 11 AM – 3 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday at 5 PM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish Center (Holy Family School gymnasium), 46 Lake Street, LeRoy.

     Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
