Randy John Jones, 66, of LeRoy, New York, passed away peacefully at his home on May 21, 2026. He was a devoted and loved son, brother, cousin, “fun uncle”, and friend to so many, and his presence will be deeply missed.

     Randy was born in Norman, Ok (Go Sooners) and grew up in Manchester, Ct. (Go UConn). He spent his adult life moving about the Eastern portion of the country from Maine to Florida. Most recently he called LeRoy, New York home where he was his father’s caregiver for the past three years.

     Randy absolutely loved word puzzles of all types. Every day The New York Times crossword was complete and the Sunday version was bested every week. He was a master cribbage player and enjoyed playing tournaments online. He could identify almost any bird, and would get excited if you told him you saw a red bellied woodpecker. After his mother passed in 2013, Randy assumed her role as the anchor for the family, keeping everyone informed as to all the goings-on of other family members. And if you ever needed to know some little family fact like - what was grandpa Joneses job when he was in college - he was your man.

     Randy is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Jones. He is survived by his father, William Jones; two sisters, Dia Hunter and Amy Rose (Mike); one brother, Jay (Donna). He is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts and uncles and adoring nieces and nephews.

     Due to concerns for the families father's comfort, no services will be held.
