Le Roy ~ Eric Hillard Hanson, age 62, of South St. Rd., passed away on May 31, 2016 in Belmont, NY. He was born in Buffalo, NY on February 10, 1954, a son of the late Dr. Warren Hanson and Shirley Sexsmith Hanson, formerly of Warsaw. In 2013, Eric retired from Monroe Community College after 30 years of service as supervisor of shipping and receiving. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ranae Kuitems Hanson; stepmother, Laura Lunn Hanson of San Diego, CA; sister, Kristin (Melanie Thompson) Hanson of Anchorage, AK; brother, Nels Hanson of Fond du Loc, WI; father-in-law, Ralph Kuitems, Sr. (Jane) of Webster, NY; brothers-in-law, Ralph Kuitems, Jr. of Rochester, NY and Russell (Anna) Kuitems of Le Roy; sister-in-law, Cornelia Kuitems Ruedin (Jason) of Ontario, NY; beloved dogs, Snake, Tripp and Bowie and cat, Kitty. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Craig Hanson and mother-in-law, Nancy Kearns Kuitems. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 12 ~ 3 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where Eric's Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Eric was an avid outdoorsman so, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humphrey Nature Center at Letchworth State Park, c/o Natural Heritage Trust, 625 Broadway, Albany, NY, 12207, 518-474-2997.
