Bergen ~ Mildred A. “Chip” Johnson, age 63, of Clinton Street Road, passed away early Friday morning (July 7, 2023) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

She was born June 13, 1960 in Bath, N.Y., a daughter of the late Lyle Fox and Grace Anne Payne.

After graduation from high school, Mildred attended and graduated from Genesee Community College in 1988 and SUNY Brockport in 1999, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

She enjoyed crafts, waterfall hunting, going to yard sales, photography (especially nature), puzzles and visiting state parks, especially Letchworth State Park.

Mildred will be remembered as a quirky and spunky woman and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving companion, Reid Taber of Bergen; her children, Merlyn (Christina) Johnson of Cameron Mills, N.Y., Cassandra Johnson of Johnstown, N.Y., Cory (Ashley) Fox of Batavia and Felicia Dumar of Bergen; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and her loving and faithful canine buddies, Wyatt and Sasha.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Trevor Breemes.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Letchworth State Park at a date and time to be announced.
