LeRoy ~ Salvatore LaRosa, age 87, formerly of Pleasant Street, passed away early Friday morning (Sept. 19, 2014) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. He was born February 1, 1927 in Genoa, Italy, a son of the late Dominic and Teresa Margagni LaRosa. Mr. LaRosa will be remembered as a very quiet and kind man, who loved spending time with his family and gardening. He was a long time member of St. Joseph's Church in LeRoy and a retiree of Lapp Insulator, where he was a forklift operator for many years. He is survived by his sister in law, Josephine Conte of LeRoy, a niece, Margy (Barry) Fenstermaker of LeRoy, a nephew, Frank (Tammi) Conte of LeRoy, a sister and three brothers, all residing in Calbria, Italy, along with many great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Millie Rose LaRosa in 2002. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 ~ 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. His Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish (St. Joseph's Oratory), 27 Lake St., LeRoy. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery will be private. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
