Dear Deb, Liz & family,
We are very saddened to hear of George's passing. What a life he led! I know that he really never dreamed he would live to this ripe old age. He did live his life not worrying about what comes next and trying to live it up.
He was a great friend and wonderful co-worker for Michael Love and I. We have all been retired for 5 years now from our business Amputee Treatment Center and when I think back I can hardly believe we worked together for 25+ years! Michael and his friendship went back way before that and they worked together at Georges office in Buffalo then. We had a great working relationship, and I have fond memories of coffee and crossword puzzles in our kitchen/lounge area every morning. Also I am proud of all the individuals that he and Michael fabricated prosthetic devices for and helped them to walk again. It was quite a rewarding career at times.
He also loved woodworking and spent many hours in the shop at work and at home making all kinds of furniture, ornaments, candle holders, etc. He loved figuring out new woodworking tools and techniques and made all kinds of jigs to make the job easier. We use that lottery scratcher every time we buy a lottery ticket!
Back in the old days when George worked in Plattsburgh, Michael and I visited him several times. We went to the bar he frequented and it was just like going into Cheers! Everybody greeted us like old friends.
And we will drink a toast in your honor George! It was a pleasure knowing you!
