Ed was married to my Aunt Peg and I will always be grateful for the patient care he spent on her. He was a quiet and kind man; I admit that I did not know him well because we lived some distance from them, but whenever we were together, I could see what a kind and generous heart he had. My father, Doug Brodie, went to school with him and they kept in contact with one another deep into their old age. I'm grateful for the hole he filled in my Aunt's life. Her illness was a difficult one and he was a loving support to her.
With love and sympathy,
Jennifer Hanno

I met Ed while working in my dad's law office. I often bumped into Ed at Tops and he never failed while we caught up our news to relay a story of their shared Irish Catholic heritage or ask about my brothers health.
He was proud of all the Irish that was in him!!

Eddie was a very good friend. He was also a high school classmate of mine.
We enjoyed chatting on the phone and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Ed had a great sense of history and was willing to share those memories. When I did an exhibit on WW 1 he donated his father’s pack and its contents. The wealth of knowledge Ed had was amazing and he was always willing to share. He was very interested in the new Municipal Historians office at the Village Hall. In fact, days before he passed, he stopped in to share some stories and to encourage us with our work. And he was also a generous man whose concern for Machpelah Cemetery was recently noticed by a donation to repair the fence. He will be sorely missed. I value his friendship through all the years I knew him.

Prayers to the family. Ed was in the Army with my dad. One time after my dad passed he gave us this photo. He was such a kind man. I will miss my friend.

Ed was a wonderful man and so kind to all of us at Faith Community Church. He was our unofficial church watchman, letting us know when windows were left open, lights left on, or if there was unusual activity on Church grounds. At Christmas time he would bless us with delicious cookies. We are so grateful to him for all he did and for his kindness to us when we were new in the neighborhood. We feel profound sadness at his passing, and will miss him very much. It won't be the same without his wave hello or goodbye. Our deepest condolences to his daughters and other family.
