So sad to read of the passing of this awesome human and my sincere condolences to his loved ones.
“Mange” was a dedicated educator at Attica Central and his students recognized that they would receive the attention of someone who truly enjoyed his career choice and gave a damn about his “kids”.
As a school board member at ACS and the Mom of two of his students, I will never forget the many times we shared a cup of coffee and conversation at a convenience store in Attica. I so enjoyed his wit ad charming personality and the world has become a sadder place without him! Godspeed “Mange”…..I will never forget you!

You don’t know me but I knew Fred in the late 1950s. I dated his brother,Fran, so we spent a lot of time together. He was a kind, loving man who was a friend to many. I am thinking of you during this difficult time.

Mr. Mangefrida, I remember grading test that 1st period took in 2nd period study hall for you. In which I was going to take 3rd period Global. You were one of my favorite teachers in high school. You always met each of the student with a smile and good morning! You taught me more than just history. You taught me compassion, kindness, and how to bring out the best in someone. Heavenly hugs and you will always hold a special place in my highschool memories! Thank you to his children and family for sharing him with all of us Attica high school!

My brother Fred was gregarious; he'll be remembered by many family, friends, and caregivers. This photograph shows him at a family reunion a few years ago being lauded by his first cousins (and me) as the eldest of the Mangefrida clan at that time.
