LeRoy ~ Elizabeth C. Higgins, age 102, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (January 21, 2025) at the New York State Veterans Home at Batavia.

She was born April 30, 1922 in Hollywood California, a daughter of the late William and Alice Chapel Schmitt.

Elizabeth will be remembered for her love of family, her country and all things to do with sports. She was a proud veteran, having served with the United States Coast Guard during WWII. When she was no longer participating in sports herself, she would follow all of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.

She is survived by her sons; Donald (Renee) Higgins Jr. and Robert Higgins; grandchildren, Mark (Leslie) Higgins, Adam (Tara) Higgins, Nathan Kyle (Gretchen) Higgins and Sean (Monica) Higgins; great-grandchildren, Alexa, Matt, Ryan, Jake, Makaylah, Aliyah, Olivia, Jazmyn, Mia and Jayden, along with many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Donald; son, William and five siblings.

There will be no prior visitation and interment at Fairview Cemetery in Pavilion will be at the convenience of the family.
