Obituary of Margaret M. Rich

LeRoy ~ Margaret "Peg" Rich, age 96, of Gilbert Street, passed away Thursday afternoon (Feb. 19, 2015) at United Memorial Medical Center. Mrs. Rich was born April 12, 1918 in Batavia, a daughter of the late William and Mary Coughlin Fagan. Peg and her late husband, Charles, were very active in St. Peter's Church activities, the American Legion and were scout leaders for many years. She was also very instrumental in providing crocheted doll clothing for the dolls donated to local children through the LeRoy Food Pantry. She is survived by her loving children; Patricia (John) Hopkins of LeRoy and Terry (Kathy) Rich of LeRoy; grandchildren, Andrew, Melissa, Leslie and Scott; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Hunter, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Charles M. Rich and 4 siblings. There is no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either LeRoy Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 56, LeRoy, NY 14482 or the "Sunshine Fund" of the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, 10 Munson Street, LeRoy, NY 14482.
