Pavilion ~ Dorothy H. Hackett, age 92, of York Road, passed away on Friday morning,(May 29 , 2015) at home in the loving presence of her family.
Mrs. Hackett was born April 5, 1923 in York, N.Y., a daughter of the late David and Mable Dale Rossborough.
She will be remembered as a very caring and loving family matriarch, who was a foster mother in Genesee County for over 50 years. She also enjoyed garage sales and making corner dolls.
Mrs. Hackett is survived by her children; Darleen (Ronald) Rodgers of Warsaw, Sherrie (Thomas) Logsdon of MI, Timothy (Helena) Hackett of Spencerport, Rebecca Hackett of Pavilion, Jane Hackett of Batavia and Michael (Laurie) Hackett of Pavilion, Joyce (Doug) Logsdon of Pavilion, Mary (Randy) Graham of Pavilion and Paul Brayley of Pavilion; daughter in law, Ann Hackett of Pavilion; sisters, Mary Lois (William) Carson of York and Agnes Kelch of York; along with 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 9 great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her “extended family”, as she and her husband opened their home as foster parents to many children over the years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Frederick Hackett, a son, David Hackett, granddaughter, Marybeth James, great-granddaughter, Abby Logsdon, and four sisters, Trisha Wolfe, Margaret Wolfe, Betty Boyd and Anna Mae Hulburt.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, June 6 from 1 ~ 3 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt 19), LeRoy, where funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, York.
