Obituary of Henry L. Howard

LeRoy ~ Henry "Hank" L. Howard, age 77, of Wolcott Street, passed away early Wednesday morning (June 24, 2015) at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born January 24, 1938 in Batavia, a son of the late Lawrence and Cecilia McLaughlin Howard. Mr. Howard was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. Hank retired in 1995 After 30 years of service. He was set up man at Rochester Products Division of General Motors and attended union dinners regularly. The people he bonded with there were a unique group of life long friends and an extension of family. They were the folks he could truly count on. UAW families are always there for each other no matter what. He enjoyed the presence of his family and friends, as well as, attending various car races. He is survived by his children; Jeanice (Daniel DeKruger) Howard of LeRoy, John (Annette) Howard of Iron Station, NC and Barbara Howard of LeRoy; grandchildren, David Howard, James O'Shea Jr. (Jessica) and John O'Shea; great-grandchildren, Amy Lynn O'Shea, Ashley Marie O'Shea and James David O'Shea; siblings, Ethel Stephenson of Wyoming, Mary (Sam) Patri of Batavia, Cecelia (Martin) Schoff of Pavilion, Dorothy (Randy) Roth of CA, Frank (Nancy) Howard of LeRoy and Lawrence Howard of Castile; sisters in law, Cindy (Joe) Maloni of LeRoy and Candie (Ed ) Adamczyk of Avon; brothers in law, Ted Powers of Pavilion and Don Rigney of Long Island, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Roberta Dampier Howard and his siblings, Patricia Rigney, Marjorie Reilly, John Howard, William Howard and Michael Howard. Family and friends may call on Thursday, July 9 from 2 ~ 4:30 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt 19), LeRoy, where Hank's memorial service will be held at 4:30 PM. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Pavilion will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center, P.O.
