Pavilion ~ James A. Phillips, age 74, of Perry Road, passed away Tuesday afternoon (March 15, 2016) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born March 31, 1941 in Covington, a son of the late Ralph and Reva Satter Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a faithful, lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Pavilion and had worked at Lapp Insulator for over 36 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Hilda Thater Phillips; his daughter, Sheryl (Daniel) Woodward; his son, David (Jill) Phillips; six grandchildren; his siblings, Ralph (Phyllis) Phillips, Paul (Joyce) Phillips and Kathy (Dave) Little, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Timothy. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Pavilion. Interment in Pavilion Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either the First Baptist Church of Pavilion or the Pavilion Fire Dept.
