Obituary of Doris Mae Cook

LeRoy ~ Doris M. Cook, age 90, a lifelong resident of LeRoy, entered eternal rest on Tuesday (May 24, 2016) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. Mrs. Cook was born April 2, 1926 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Harry and Edith Freiheit Van alstine. She will always be remembered for her total love and devotion to her family. She was a caregiver for most of her life, starting as a young girl for her grandmother and mother and eventually applied her nursing skills to the residents of the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home for 25 years. Mrs. Cook is survived by her children, Robert (Teresa) Cook of Churchville, Sandra (Gordon) Draper of Pavilion and Richard (Joyce) Cook of LeRoy; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a special niece, Anna Mae (Norm) Steinbaugh. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Herbert J. Cook in 1994. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 ~ 8 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19). Graveside services in Machpelah Cemetery will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday. Memorials are suggested to the Activity Fund at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, 10 Munson St., LeRoy, NY 14482.
