Elba ~ Jay G. Flensted, age 76, of Transit Road, passed away unexpectedly on Monday,March 20, 2017. He was born September 9, 1940 in Rochester, N.Y., a son of the late Arthur and Naomi Flensted. Jay will be remembered as very caring and devoted family man, who was always willing to help anyone that needed it. He enjoyed traveling and was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran. He was also a member of the Town of Greece police and fire auxiliary in his earlier years. He moved on to become a computer engineer and repairman for IBM for about 28 years prior to his retirement. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Emily Skiba Flensted; his children, Kathleen Henning of LeRoy and Kevin (Dawn) Flensted of Westerlo, NY; grandsons, Randal Henning, Matthew Henning, Bryant Flensted and Trevor Flensted, along with many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Karen Flensted and Linda Flensted. Family and friends may call on Friday from 6 ~ 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy. His Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a Veteran's Organization of the donor's choice.
