Linwood ~ Gary E. "Scotty" Scott, age 64, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family and friends on April 8, 2017.
Mr. Scott was born, raised and lived his entire life in Linwood, N.Y. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 832 with 45 years of dedicated service. He retired from CP Ward after 24 years as a New York State Crane operator.
He was a fun loving family man, whose greatest joy in life was spoiling his 8 grandchildren.
Mr. Scott was predeceased by his parents, John and Isabelle Platek Scott, his older brother, John Scott and his sister, Carol Giacomelli.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Castle-Scott; his children, Amy (Glen) Hallit of Rochester, Christopher (Lisa) Scott of Fountain Inn, SC, Shanna (Charlie) Rose of Etowa, TN and Brent Castle of Stafford; his grandchildren, Austen Koczent, Ethan Koczent, Lucas Koczent, Lyla Hallit, Madison Scott, Carson Scott, Savanah Rose and Jocelyn Rose; his siblings, Deborah (Mike) Kaiser of Attica, Kathy (William) Baker of Wyoming, Patricia Shelton of FL and Bill (Marge) Scott of IA, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Gary's Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 11:00 A.M. at the Batavia United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Road (Rt. 63), Batavia, NY. Following his service, the family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. at the Northwoods Sportsman's Club, 8402 Gulf Road, LeRoy for a reception and sharing of memories.
