Batavia ~ Carl R. Laird Sr., age 71, of Franklin Street, died Thursday morning (June 21, 2012) at United Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Laird was born July 7, 1940 in Chicago, a son of Irene Laird-Dewey and the late Robert Crawford-Laird. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring man that lead a simple life. He cherished the walks he took and loved his pets and the outdoors. In addition to his mother, Mr. Laird is survived by his daughters; Carla Laird of Batavia, Regina (Dave Radley) Laird of Batavia and Billie Jo Laird of Bradenton, FL; his son, Brian Preedom of Batavia; a brother, Roger (Patty) Laird of Batavia, a sister, Colleen Laird-Gonzales of Gainesville, his companion, Lailoni Patrizi of Buffalo, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sherrie Jean Laird, a son, Carl Laird Jr. and a brother, Robert “Bobby” Laird. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Monday at 10:30 AM at the Batavia Assembly of God Church, 24 N. Spruce Street, Batavia. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carl’s memory may be made to his family.
