Covington ~ Gary L. Dean, age 72, of Perry Road, formerly of Oakfield, passed away Thursday morning (July 6, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital.
     He was born August 26, 1944 in Batavia, a son of the late Edwin and Olive Thayer Dean.
     Gary will be remembered as a very compassionate and sharing person.  He was a wonderful, loving and caring grandfather, who was very supportive of his grandchildren's sporting events.  He was known for his story telling and his love of auctions and coon hunting.
     Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Diane Gartley Dean; his daughters, Cindy Higginson of Chicago and Maureen (Kevin) Stefan of E. Bethany; grandchildren, Heather, Sarah and Kyle Stefan and Susan Evans; 2 great-grandsons; brother-in-law, Kenneth (MaryAnne) Gartley; sisters-in-law, Mary (John) Falcone and Christine Gartley, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by a sister, Gloria Fitzgerald, brother, Douglas Dean, brothers-in-law, Gary Gartley and Craig Gartley, and a sister-in-law, Sandy Burnell.
     Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where services will be held at
7:00 PM.
