Obituary of Jennie C. Rizzo

LeRoy ~ Jennie C. Rizzo, age 96, formerly of Genesee Street, passed away early Wednesday morning (February 21, 2018) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

     She was born December 26, 1921 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Serusa Ferrrara.

     Jennie was a member of St. Joseph's Church for over 75 years where she also sang in the choir.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother to her family.

     She is survived by her son, John L. Rizzo (Kim Edmister) of LeRoy and her daughter, Mary Margaret (Bob) Corrado of LeRoy; grandchildren, Nicholas J. Rizzo, Jeffrey R. Rizzo, Nathan D. (Keri) Rider and Elizabeth Corrado; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Engel, Christopher Engel, Olivia Rider and Zachary Rider; siblings, Samuel A. Ferrara, Mary F. Gugino and Roxy J. (Josephine) Ferrrara, all of LeRoy, sister-in-law, Rozella Smith of Batavia,  brother-in-law, Samuel C. Rizzo of LeRoy, along with many nieces and nephews.

     She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard J. Rizzo in 1969, sister, Santa O'Geen, brother-in-law, Dominic O'Geen,  brother, Joseph Ferrara, sister-in-law, Lena Ferrara, brother-in-law, Dr. Anthony Gugino and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rose and Sam Rizzo.

     Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Sunshine Fund, c/o LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, 10 Munson Street, LeRoy, N.Y. 14482
