Byron ~ Judith D. (Freeman) Acker, age 75, of Swamp Road, passed away Thursday morning (September 27, 2018) at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 7, 1942 in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of the late Darrell and Daisy Gleber Freeman.
Judy was a 1960 graduate of Byron-Bergen High School and then attended the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and received her LPN certification in 1961. She was a private home duty nurse in the Byron - Bergen community for over 25 years prior to her retirement.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, who enjoyed cooking for others, reading, watching movies and especially spending time with her family and friends, both at home and at the family cottage.
Judy is survived by her children, Candace Hensel, Denise (John) Prospero and Brett Acker; grandsons, Nicholas Prospero (Sarah Ledwith) and Jacob Prospero; siblings, Thomas Freeman, William (Jeanne) Freeman, James (Jacklin) Freeman, Karen (Thomas) Copeland and Jeffrey (Bridget) Freeman; sisters-in-law, Mary Backus, Ruth Ribbeck, Dorothy Dumbleton and Shirley Acker; special friend, Marie Barringer, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert "Al" Acker and brother, Darrell Freeman Jr.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, October 7 from 12 ~ 2:30 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where a Remembrance Service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Interment in the North Byron Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
