LeRoy ~ Donald C. "Clarky" Vescovi, age 86, of Platt Avenue, passed away at home Saturday morning (Dec. 29, 2018) surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 21, 1932 in Warsaw, NY, a son of the late John and Edith Clark Vescovi.
Clarky will be remembered as a very loving husband, father and grandfather, who was devoted to his family and his community. He served his country as a veteran of the US Navy, was a past member of the LeRoy Fire Dept., was a coach for the American Legion and Little League baseball teams and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was a member of the American Legion for 58 years, where he was very active in legion functions, especially at Christmas time. He was also active with the American Legion Honor Guard, providing military service honors to fallen veterans. In 2009, he was awarded LeRoyan of the Year.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Christine Maier Vescovi; his children, Christine (Jim) Williamson, John (Barb) Vescovi, Donald (Pam) Miller, Karen (Vincent) Syracuse, Ursula (Dan) Norman and Kip (Denise) Vescovi; grandchildren, John, Mandy, Kyle, Donny, Jake, Brandon, Becky Jo, Cassie, Nick, Kelsey, Mitch, Montana, Olivia and Ava; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews, along with many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Norma (John) Disinger.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 2 from 2 ~ 6 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy, where his Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. followed by military honors. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery will be private.
