Stafford ~ Bill Clay Barber, age 78, of Roanoke Road, passed away Thursday afternoon (January 31, 2019) at home in the loving presence of his family.
He was born September 21, 1940 in Mt. Sterling, KY, a son of the late Omer and Della Ballard Barber.
Bill will be remembered as a loving and quiet man, who enjoyed woodworking. He was a graduate of Sinclair College and the University of Dayton, where he received his Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bill worked as a manufacturing engineering manager until his retirement in 2001. He was also a veteran, having served with the US Army.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Barbara Higley Barber; children, Ann Marie (Charles) Zambito, Timothy (Elizabeth) Holly, David (Kimberly) Holly, Toni Lynn Barber, Bill Scott Barber, Bill C. Barber and Kevin C. Barber; mother-in-law, Ruth Higley Weber; sister-in-law, Beverly Hess, brothers-in-law, Roger (Patricia) Higley and Richard (Sandra) Higley, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
There will be no prior visitation and services will be private at the convenience of his family.
In lieu of any flowers, memorials are suggested to either HomeCare & Hospice or the Stafford Fire Dept.
