Obituary of James C. Johnson

Niagara Falls ~ James C. Johnson, age 55, formerly of Batavia, passed away Thursday morning (May 9, 2019) at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

     He was born December 3, 1963 in Winter Haven, FL, a son of Annie Hatcher Johnson and the late Richard Johnson.

     James or "J.C.", as he was known by his family, will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle.  He was very good at hands-on tasks and construction work.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a die-hard Oakland Raiders fan.  He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Kanner Johnson; his children, Sarah Lockhart, Katrina Johnson (Ronnie), Latoya Johnson, Jovon Johnson (James), Patricia (Dyquann) Tucker and Cedric Carpenter; his mother, Annie Johnson;  his siblings, Willie Mae Fields, Annette (Ralph) Black, Richard Johnson, Patricia Johnson and Cornelius (Keyonna) Johnson; his aunts, Ruth Stinson and Minnie Lee Rolle; 17 grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

     In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his son, Quincey Carpenter Johnson in 2012.

     Family and friends may call on Saturday, May 18 from 11 AM - 12 PM at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 190 Oak Street, Batavia, NY, where his Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 PM.  Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.

     Memorials are suggested to the family to assist in establishing education funds.
